June, 2011: Dresden Microelectronics Academy 2011 & ICGEE Bursaries

The International Centre for Graduate Education in Micro- and Nano-Engineering www.icgee.ie in collaboration with the Dresden Microelectronics Academy www.microelectronics-academy.de are pleased to announce the availability of four bursaries to attend the 11th Dresden Microelctronics Academy (DMA) workshop, scheduled to take place on September 5-9, 2011 at the TECHNISCHE UNIVERSITÄT Dresden, Germany.
The bursaries will cover the workshop attendance fee, which includes accommodation in the conference guesthouse, breakfast and lunch during the conference but not dinners. The bursaries also cover the cost of an economy class return flight to/fro Dresden.

May, 2011: 10 Places Free of Charge on 9 Month Business Incubation Programme at UCC for Entrepreneurial Graduates

IGNITE is the Graduate Business Innovation Centre at University College Cork (UCC). Since January 2011, ten businesses have been set up under the IGNITE programme. A number of these are already generating revenue and a number have attracted interest from investors.
IGNITE's free 9 month business incubation programme has been designed specifically for graduates who wish to set up a new business. Applications are currently being invited for the IGNITE programme starting in October 2011.

April, 2011: Graduate School Workshop on Micro & Nano Fabrication

As part of the 2011 "Sensors & their Application" conference, the International Centre for Graduate Education in micro- & nano-Engineering or ICGEE is delighted to sponsor the Graduate School Workshop on Micro & Nano Fabrication. The workshop will start with a very brief introductory talk on the various processing techniques that will be experienced in the hands-on session. Participants will then move to the fabrication clean room, kitted out in clean room clothes and given a brief safety induction. Students will be introduced to the equipment and proceed to get hands on training in photolithography alignment/exposure tools in manual operation mode.

July, 2010: Call for Applications: ICGEE PhD Scholarships

We are currently inviting applications for funded Ph.D. positions within the ICGEE programme. You must apply for the studentship from the ICGEE website at www.icgee.ie. Any application dossier submitted outside the ICEEE portal will not be reviewed. Your application must be linked to one of the Irish academic institutions within the ICGEE consortium. Should your ICGEE application be successful, the chosen Irish academic institution will become your host institution throughout your doctorate programme. The PhD research must fit within the ICGEE key research areas: Micro- & Nano-Engineering Design and Materials & Manufacturing. Potential students should have the equivalent of a honours primary degree or a Masters level education.
