Education Programme
The problem that confronts most Universities and Engineering Schools today is that which deals with the organisation of high-level doctoral programmes covering several engineering fields that coincide with the latest advances in modern research. The problem is further exacerbated by the increasing multidisciplinary nature and content of emerging research domains. There's a clear recognition that none of the major Irish third level institutions can alone provide the high quality and broad range of courses that meet the requirements of a modern multidisciplinary PhD. The structure of the basic engineering curriculum (Bachelor & Master degrees) is not designed to cover all the required fields at the level required. For these reasons, ICGEE believes that the development of a state-of-art graduate curriculum is best achieved by combining the scientific strengths and pedagogical expertise of the partner institutions into a single education programme to provide a shared and collaborative curriculum of the highest quality.
ICGEEprovides a delocalised coherent set of graduate level courses (ICGEE Curriculum) that meet the objectives of the programme. The courses are explicitly accredited by the providing academic institutions prior to being accepted into our calendar. Where appropriate, courses are developed to be distant-learningthus allowing student participation from their desk. The contents of all courses are available on our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Module registration is fascilitaed from Module Registration section.
