The international centre for graduate education in engineering (ICGEE) is inter-university, inter-disciplinary and international. It brings together nine Irish third level higher education institutions:

  • University College Cork (UCC)
  • University College Dublin (UCD)
  • University of Limerick (UL)
  • National University of Ireland (NUI Galway)
  • Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT)
  • Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT)
  • Cork Institute of Technology (CIT)
  • Trinity College Dublin (TCD)

along with international partners:

  • Northwestern University Evanston, IL, USA
  • Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (INPG), France
  • Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden
  • Edinburgh University, UK
  • Fudan University, Shanghai, China

It also includes participation from the most relevant engineering professional accreditation body in our field, Engineers Ireland.

ICGEE provides training in design, fabrication and characterisation for electronic, photonic and electro-mechanical micro- and nano-systems, supported by commercialisation training to prepare future engineering innovators.

The ICGEE will provide a student-centric doctoral research and education experience with a unique international flavour and perspective. This will include a global curriculum, world-class research opportunities, and the opportunity to build an international peer network amongst the next generation of internationally focused global engineering young leaders.
